Actor. He was raised in New York and attended City College of New York. Throughout his 20s, he performed as a dancer in Broadway shows. He was married to Bonita Fiedler. He divorced his wife in 1948, and at the age of 34, in 1949 moved to Hollywood to try his hand in the movies. He immediately won a part in the movie "Flamingo Road" and was signed by Warner Bros. He was so impressive, he went on to co-star in "Beyond the Forest," followed by "Intruder in the Dust," his first starring role. All of this within his first year in California. He then married Loma Gray. A favorite of Joan Crawford, he was in several of her pictures. She felt his height, blonde hair and rugged looks were a good compliment to her. He was always ready to lend a hand at a benefit or charity function and of course, loved to dance. Brian's most famous role came in 1954 with the television series "Mr. District Attorney." As he grew older, he turned character actor on television starring in dozens of shows over the next 20 years. He typically played law enforcement types, political figures, or cattle barons. He still occasionally would do a movie part, such as those in "The High and the Mighty," "Pocketful of Miracles," "How the West Was Won" and "The First Travelling Saleslady." He died at the age of 78 of cancer and finally heart failure in Sherman Oaks, California.
