Olney, Ill. — Danny Lee Welty, 56, of Clay City, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Mr. Welty was born July 26, 1954, in Flora, the son of Albert and Opal (Slade) Welty. He married Ethel Abbott on November 29, 1974. She survives.
He worked in metalizing at North American Lighting in Flora.
Mr. Welty is survived by his wife, Ethel Abbott Welty; son, Cobie Welty and his wife, Dianna, of Clay City; son, Toby Welty and his girlfriend, Heather Mix, of Clay City; five grandchildren, Quentin, Faith, Hunter, Cody and Gracie; and brothers, Dee Welty and Willine, of Cisne, Paul Welty and Claudia, of Flora, James Welty, of Flora, and Bobby Welty and Kathy, of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Opal Welty, two sisters, Darlene Durre and Veda Shurm, and brothers, Dwayne Baughman.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Kent McTaggart officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Ridge Cemetery in rural Wynoose.
Memorials may be made to Forrest Ridge Church.
