She was born at Lorado on Feb. 14, 1924, to Claud Barrow and Hettie Cooper Barrow.
She retired as a cook from Arkansas State University and attended Nettleton Methodist Church.
Pearlie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William J. Newton; three brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Angela Oliver.
She is survived by her son, Danny Strickland (Janice); three grandchildren, Harold Callahan, Jean Sefers and Sherrie Stewart; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Linda Jones, Pam Snyder and Rilla Cope; three stepsons, Randy Newton, Bill Newton and Curt Newton; 13 stepgrandchildren; and 26 stepgreat-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
