LuVerne George Peterson, the son of the late Hillary and Vera (Lucas) Peterson, was born on August 1, 1936, in Lind Township of Roseau County, Minnesota. He attended a country school in Lind Township and later attended Karlstad High School. Following school, LuVerne worked for many area farmers and later worked at Arctic Enterprises in Thief River Falls. He was united in marriage to Mona Kuznia on June 15, 1974, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls and they made their home and worked in Thief River Falls for a number of years. He and Mona then moved to Stephen, Minnesota, and later to Karlstad where they have since resided. LuVerne was employed by Evans and Kennard Anderson Farms of Kennedy and McFarlane Farms of Argyle, LuVerne sincerely enjoyed the Christmas season over they years. He passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2011, at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 29 days.
He is survived by his wife, Mona; one son: Kris, of Karlstad; one sister: Sylvia Bengtson, also of Karlstad; one brother: Jim (Joyce) Peterson, of Alexandria, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
LuVerne was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Kristi Ann Peterson in 1995 and two brothers: Donald and Hillary, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 2 P.M. at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Karlstad.
Visitation will be held after 6:00 PM, Tues., at the church, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wed.
Interment will be held at the Karlstad City Cemetery following services.
