Many relatives and friends are sorrowing by the death of Mrs. Mary J., beloved wife of Mr. Thos. P. Fitzpatrick that occurred at their home Sunday morning October 10, 1909. She had long been in feeble condition of health.
The funeral occurred at the Christian church on Tuesday the services led by Rev. W. B. Cochran, the burial was in the Lockwood cemetery attended by a large number of relatives and sympathizing friends.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was 60 years of age August 6th. She was a native of Tennessee. Mr. and Mrs. Fitzpatrick had resided in Dade Co. nearly 40 years. Her life was one of noble service in the work of doing good in accord with the precepts of the religion she professed and exemplified in almost a lifelong membership of the Christian church.
In her death her husband and six children loose the companionship of a good wife and mother.
Of the children of Mrs. Fitzpatrick, four sons and two daughters all were present of the funeral. They are: Messrs. Thos., John, Will and Charles Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Sol (Let tie) Farmer, Mrs. Ed (Mintie) Collins. Five sisters and one brother were present, Mrs. Mary E. Burch, Mrs. Martha C. Burch, Mrs. Margaret Gray, Mrs. Amanda Carr, Mrs. Will (Angeline) Covert; Mr. Robert Stanley from Aurora. Two brothers were residing at a distance were unable to be present.
