JAY — Geraldine "Jerry" Ida James, resident of Jay, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Integris Grove General Hospital. She was 83. Jerry, the daughter of Eugene and Pearl Schultz Cain, was born on Nov. 13, 1927, in Stuttgard, Arkansas.
Geraldine married LeRoy James on Dec. 27, 1944, in Newkirk. They lived in Ponca City for 27 years. Approximately 14 years ago she and her husband moved to Jay from Lebanon, Missouri. She was a member of the book club and the Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years; two daughters; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Mt. Hermon Church with the Rev. Brandon McCombs officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hermon Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.
