Eleanor Cecil was the daughter of Samuel Cecil (1794-1874) and Henrietta Iiams Cecil (1796-1846) (both born in Maryland)

Eleanor married Jonathan Rothrock (1818-1888) on 17 Jun 1839 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Eleanor and Jonathan were the parents of six known children, namely:

1. Henry Tippett Rothrock (1840-1929)
2. Rosannah Lauvina Myers (1843-1920)
3. Henrietta Emeline Rothrock Kennedy (1845-1908)
4. Andrew Franklin Rothrock (1850-1921)
5. Martin Samuel Rothrock (1854-1933)
6. William A. G. Rothrock (1857-1861)
