FLOY ELEANOR ALLEN
Floy Eleanor Allen, daughter of Charles L. and Laura E. Young, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, Dec. 2, 1899 and passed away in a hospital at Longmont, Colo., at 10:30 a.m. April 26, 1956, at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 24 days, after a year's illness.
She spent her entire life in Lucas county with the exception of the last four years when she and her husband moved to Longmont, Colo.
On May 14, 1919, she was united in marriage to Carl Allen. To this union a daughter and four sons were born. Surviving are her husband and children, Mrs. Frances Nichols of Longmont, Colo., Frederick C. of Chariton, Robert C. of Russell, Keith E. of Altoona and Jack H. of Alexandria, Va.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Glenn Dillman of Chariton and Mrs. John Box of Des Moines and five grandchildren. Mrs. Josephine Allen, her mother-in-law, also survives. Her parents and one sister, Mrs. Althea Funk, preceded her in death.
Upon moving in 1952 to Colorado, her membership was transferred from the First Presbyterian church of Chariton to Central Presbyterian church of Longmont, where she was an active member as long as her health permitted.
Funeral services were held in Longmont from the Llewellen funeral home Friday, April 27 at 3 p.m., the Rev. Stanley Greiner officiating. In Chariton, funeral services were held at the Beardsley funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 1956, conducted by the Rev. Russell Shaw, of Des Moines, assisted by the Rev. John A. Orange. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
Pall bearers were Homer Curtis, Bob Curtis, Harry McNay, Kermit Kendall, John Lazear and Charles Brown.
