Joseph S. Conlon, 85, of Liberty, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at home. He was born December 23, 1925, in Port Vue, and was the son of the late James R. and Florence M. Wilkes Conlon. He was a member of St. Mark?s Parish, Liberty, and the Glassport American Legion. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a retired pipe threader for the former U.S. Steel National Tube Works. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Karlovski Conlon; daughters Jean (Thomas M.) Zimmerman of Port Vue, and Cynthia Casturo of Elizabeth; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Sopko, who died April 16, 2009. There is no visitation. Private burial will be in the McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township.
