Mr. Thomas Aloysius Conlon Jr., 64, of 17751 Cattail Road, Poolesville, died Sunday, April 1, at Shady Grove Adventist
Hospital, Rockville.

He was the husband of Mrs. Ruth I. Conlon.

Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. Conlon was a son of Laura Wessell Conlon, Poolesville, and the late Thomas A. Conlon.

Surviving Mr. Conlon, besides his wife and mother, are two daughters, Ruth Hart, Philadelphia, and Lucy C. Wolfe, Frederick; one son, Thomas M. Conlon, Poolesville; three sisters, Laura C. Jamison and Mary C. Ware, both of Poolesville, and Sara Conlon, Washington, D.C., and five grandchildren.

A native Washingtonian, Mr. Conlon graduated from Central High, Class of 1938, of which he was class president. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia with bachelor and master of education degrees and he was president of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.

From 1944 to 1975, Mr. Conlon was employed by the Montgomery County Public School System where he served as principal of Sligo Junior High School, Albert Einstein High School and Woodward High School and was one of the
founders of the Montgomery County Federal Teachers Credit Union.

Mr. Conlon was active in the Maryland State Teachers Association and MCEA and was chairman of numerous evaluation committees for the Middle States Association of College and Secondary Schools and was a member and past president of the Secondary School Principals Association.

He also served as past president of the BCC Lions Club and was a director of Mr. Thomas A. Conlon Jr. the Kiwanis Club of Wheaton. He also was active in civic affairs in local government in Chevy Chase and was a licensed pilot.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Barnesville. The Rev. George Reid will officiate. Interment
will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Conlon's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11323 Amherst Ave., Silver Spring, Md. 20902.
