He was a native of Nantucket and for many years a respectable Shipmaster from New York. He has left a wife and daughter to mourn their irreparable loss. By his side lies his infant daughter, Maria Louisa, aged 2 years, who died August 4, 1823 at Rocky River Springs, N.C.
