Wife of well known attorney expires after year's illness.
Mrs. Clara Russell, wife of Attorney John A. Russell and well known Elgin woman, died at her home, 820 Douglas Avenue, at 1:10 o'clock Sunday morning.
Clara Mair Russell was born at Batavia, November 23, 1867. She attended the Batavia public schools and graduated from the high school. Twenty-four years ago she was married to Attorney John A. Russell and came to Elgin to make her home. For the last year she had been in poor health and had been confined to her bed for nearly eight months.
Mrs. Russell was prominent in Elgin church society circles. She was a member of the First Methodist church, the Elgin Woman's club and was a member of the board of directors of the Larkin Children's Home.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Marion, a student at Beloit College and Marjorie of this city, and two brothers, James and William Mair of Batavia.
Funeral services were held from the late residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was at Bluff City cemetery.
