Born October 3, 1918 in Peru, Indiana she was the daughter of William and Berta (Robinson) Huey. She married Ignatius James Basile February 2, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Alta was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroe. She was a member of Monroe Senior Center Deaf. Surviving are her husband, Ignatius, J. Basile of Monroe, two daughters, Teena Wilson of Pensacola, Florida and Irene Moore of Lincoln Park; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard I. Basile and a daughter, Eleanor Huey. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church.
