Jack Gingrich, 61, of Lawn died Tuesday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He retired in 1982 as division chief of the System Design Branch of the U.S. Army, New Cumberland Army Depot, after 36 years' service; was a member of First United Methodist Church, Palmyra, and the staff parish committee; was an announcer for Hershey Bears hockey games for 20 years; announcer for Quentin horse shows, and Eastern horse shows for 32 years; announcer for Pennsylvania National horse shows for 18 years; was a charter member of Lawn Fire Company and Ambulance Corps; was a member of the Campbelltown American Legion; Quentin Riding Club; National Retired Federal Employees Association; Nittany Lions Club; was an instructor of emergency medical technicians of the Lawn Ambulance Corps; was a former president of the Lawn Fire Company; and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Emma Page Gingrich; two sons, Jack E. of Mechanicsburg, and Larry R. of Erie; his parents, Harold L. and Ida Mohler Gingrich of Lawn; a brother, Harold L. of Norristown; a sister, Betty Bashore of Lawn; and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Rothermel Funeral Home, Palmyra, with the Revs. Thomas W. Bare and Thomas W. Fries officiating. Burial will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Four Diamonds Fund, Hershey Medical Center, Hershey 17033; or to his church, Birch and Green streets, Palmyra 17078.
