"Gan Cantrell was tall with black hair and dark skin. He was artistic, thin, and strong. He liked his liquer." (Interview with Bill Magness of Lead Hill, Arkansas, 1986. Bill knew Gan and where Gan lived. He said the grave of Gan was moved from Lead Hill Cemetery to Milum Cemetery (at Lead Hill) when Bull Shoals Lake was put in. Bill had a map showing where the graves were located and where they were relocated at Milum, but Gan was not listed with a marked grave. He thought Gan died about 1921.)
