Harry Pointer Dies In Texas

Funeral services for Harry Pointer, 72, Decatur resident who died Sunday in Laredo, Texas, are to be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Pointer had been visiting with a sister, Mrs. W.Y. Bunn, in Laredo for about four months. He had been ill for some time but his death was sudden.

A native of Courtland he had resided in Decatur for many years and was in the creamery business for a number of years. He was associated with Decatur Ice Cream Cream and Creamery, Meadow Gold Dairies and White Way Pure Milk Co. Mr. Pointer was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Body is to arrive in Decatur Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. and will be taken to Brown Funeral Home Chapel and remain there until time for the service to be conducted by the Rev. W.K. Stephenson and the Rev. Minar Triplett.

He is survived by one son, Thomas Pointer, Jefferson, Ind; one step-daughter, Mrs. Herbert Gardner, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. W.Y Bunn, Laredo; Mrs. W.M. Bailey, Mrs. Sam Malone, both of Decatur.

Interment in City Cemetery is to be directed by Brown Funeral Co.

Pallbearers are to be Leo Wright, Sam Nettles, Wilbur and Foster Failey and Sam Malone Jr.
