Sherry Joan Adkins Pugh was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on March 27, 2011.
She was born to Jimerson and Bessie Adkins on August 10, 1944 in East Texas. She was the only daughter. She was preceded in death by her mother, dad and three older brothers, Earl, Ocele and Walt.
Sherry will lovingly be remembered as one who loved Jesus. She loved to laugh and to make others happy by loving them with a sweet spirit that flowed from the joy in her heart. Sherry was an active member of the Dacus Baptist Church and involved in many community activities.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Emmett Jerrell Pugh; a son, Shannon Pugh, his wife Carol; two beloved granddaughters; Lauren and Trilby Pugh; one brother, Jimmie Carol Adkins and his wife, Joyce. Sherry is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services officiated by Dr. J. K. Minton will be held on Friday, April 1st at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 20850 Eva St, Montgomery, Texas.
Interment will follow at Jacob Shannon Evergreen Cemetery in Dobbin, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 31st 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested any donations be made in her memory to the Dacus Baptist Church Building Fund, 5403 North FM 1486, Montgomery, Texas 77356
or to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 570127, Houston, Texas 77257-0127.
