Susannah Burgess was born in Virginia 1770 and married John T. Barkley in Bedford Co., Virginia about 1786 and died in Washington Co., Tennessee 1841. Sons Daniel Burgess and Ebenezer Barkley were born in Virginia. Daughters Nancy, Rebecca and Jane were probably born in Virginia. John T., Elizabeth and Sarah Ann were born in Washington Co., Tennessee.

Susannah applied to run a house of entertainment in Leesburg after John died.
