Sometime in the early 1800s, likely after the death of his father in 1805 and his grandfather in 1807, Isaac moved to Wake County where he married his wife, Dosha Cannady. All of their children were born there except for the last few which were born in Weakley County, Tennessee, where the family moved in 1826.
Isaac lived just south of Wesley Chapel in Weakley County. In 1848, he and his wife died and were buried at the Old Hickory Grove Cemetery. A church supposedly once existed at the cemetery.
