Albert H. McCraney, one of the county's best known pioneer residents, died Friday afternoon at his home in the Bardin section. The deceased was a native of Florida, having been born in Putnam county on December 29th, 1851, and here he had spent his life of activity and usefulness. In the community where he had resided for many years he was highly esteemed as a neighbor and friend, and throughout the county he was recognized as one of old Putnam's best citizens.
He is survived by his wife and five children: Mrs. W. A. Williams, Jr., of Palatka; Alonzo and Sidney McCraney, of Louisiana, and Duncan McCraney, of Georgia, and Mrs. Effie Williams, of Palatka.
The funeral was held Sunday morning at Bardin, and was attended by scores of friends from all parts of the county. The interment was in the Bardin cemetery. The following friends acted as pallbearers: Messrs. Jordan Hancock, D. Bohannon, J. W. Conway, Charles H. David, Frank Roberts and J. T. Johnson. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 6 Feb 1925.)
