Alta Viola (McCleaf) Armor was the youngest of the thirteen children of John Madison and Fannie Salome (Benchoff) McCleaf. She was the wife of William Howard Armor.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and was employed for a number of years by PennDOT, retiring in 1975. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Gettysburg AARP.

Her obituary was printed in the August 27, 1985 edition of The Gettysburg Times.
