Age 81, of Beavercreek, OH. passed away Monday, June 10, 2002. He was born July 4, 1920 in Conway, KY to Arthur and Lillie Rice, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by 2 sons, Daryl and Paul Rice; 3 brothers, Clayton, Eugene, and Orrin Rice. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie Ward Rice; son, Donald (Tami) Rice of Beavercreek, OH; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Rice of Beavercreek, OH; 3 sisters, Amaleen (Moss) Chasteen of Riverside, OH, Emerine (Arthur) Hopson of Knoxville, TN, Nadine (Park) Nunley of Riverside, OH; brother, Arlie (Lillie) Rice of West Carrollton, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII; retired from Standard Register; and was a member of East Dayton Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, June 12th at Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Rev. Gordon Bamberg officiating. Interment Rice Cemetery, Conway, KY. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Gospel Mission, Inc. Building Fund, P.O. Box 1141, Dayton, OH 45401.
