He was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, the longtime owner and operator of Rambo & Sons Drywall, and he was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Rambo; his parents, Walter E. Rambo II and Martha C. Lancaster Rambo; a sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Bernice Sublett Rambo; three sons, Jimmie (Mary) Rambo of Louisville, Walter E. (Debbie) Rambo IV of Rineyville and Kenneth (Vicki) Rambo of Hodgenville; eight grandchildren, Kenneth "Benji" Rambo, Kristie Rambo, Lisa Clark, Earl Rambo, Nicholas Rambo, Tiffany Rambo and Andrew Rambo; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.
The funeral was Thursday, March 31, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Brother Rick Trumbo officiating. Burial was in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
