Ralph F. Berkheimer, 93, of Dover, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Catharine B. (Lamparter) Berkheimer, who died December 8, 2009. They were married 70 years.
Born August 27, 1917, in Dover, he was a son of the late Jacob A. and Annie M. (Miller) Berkheimer.

In his earlier years, Ralph was employed by Borg Warner. He later became part owner of Lamparter Rendering for 25 years. Ralph also had seven and a half years of service with York Caskets. Ralph had a strong faith and made sure to read the Bible every day. He was an active member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church. He was also a member of Tamarack Sportsman's Association and Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association. Ralph loved snowmobiling and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by five children, Glenn E. Berkheimer and wife, Joyce, Wayne R. Berkheimer and wife, Cynthia, Sonja A. Crisamore and husband, Allan, and Irene F. Lau and husband, James, all of Dover, and Carol K. Sarver and husband, Robert of York; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Stare and Ruthanna L. Laird, both of York. In addition to his wife and parents, Ralph was preceded in death by two grandsons and five brothers, Kenneth E. Berkheimer, Roy E. Berkheimer, Jacob A. Berkheimer, Jr., Curt Miller, and Richard Berkheimer.

Burial will be in Dover Bethany Cemetery.
