The breath of life on earth for eternal life in heaven. On March 14, 2011 Cleo Alma (Paddie) Kerry left the ties of the earth to be present in the glory of the lord in heaven. She was born in a rural area in Gorum Louisiana April 4, 1924 but became life long resident of San Antonio. Her mother and father raised eight children to respect and love God, country and each other. She reflected her upbringing in all her life endeavors. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Although her life was simple without many frills it was filled with joyous friends, family and relatives. She possessed a caring and tender hearted nature that influenced her work through the years. One of her most enjoyed endeavors was helping others when she worked as a nurse for seventeen years. Later she worked in an adult day care. She loved taking care of her elderly clients even though in some cases she was older than the person she was caretaking. She was noted for her giving nature to anyone who was experiencing any kind of illness and gave a lot of her time to many others when their loved ones were ill and hospitalized. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her encouraging words, and sympathetic heart. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and could be relied on for a call or a visit just to keep in contact. She loved family gatherings and could always be counted on as a fun person to be around. She was the epitome of recognizing that life was a gift from God enjoying every aspect of living including such things as shopping and taking care of her dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, John B. Kerry and grand daughter Sherri Lynn Gonzales. She is survived by her three children, Patrick Kerry and wife Patricia, Paula Moos and husband Jack, and John R. Kerry, four grand children, Kristi Pennington, Diane Sedlak, Adam Moos, and Randi Kerry and nine great grand children. She is also survived by three brothers, Leroy Paddie, Jack Paddie and wife Ann, Lewis Paddie and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
