Penny Sullivan

Penny Ann Bushatz Sullivan, 69, of Batesville died Friday, March 25, 2011, in a Batesville nursing home.

Born March 9, 1942, at Cleveland, she was the daughter of George and Norma Bushatz. She was a schoolteacher, having retired from Cave City Public School after more than 20 years of service. She also taught at Highland and Desha schools. She enjoyed horses, traveling and cats. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Batesville.

Survivors include two sons, Jordan Sullivan and Jason Sullivan, both of Batesville; a brother, Craig Bushatz of Batesville; and five grandchildren, Alissa Sullivan, Clay Sullivan, Justin Sullivan, Julie Rogers and Cassie Swaim, all of Batesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Carroll Sullivan.

Graveside memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Powells Chapel Cemetery near Poughkeepsie. Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Honorary pallbearers are Janet Ward, Jane Marotta, Brenda Easter, Carolyn Johnston, Sue Marlin, Bill Marlin, Heather Sullivan, Dana Dowell, Fred Heyde and Reva Bushatz.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
