TOM HAWLEY, 84, 318 South McGregor Street, died at 7:20 a.m. today at a Carthage rest home where he had been a patient two months. He had been ill since August 1969.
Born August 21, 1885 in England, he resided several years in Chicago, Illinois before coming in 1953 to Carthage.
He was married November 1, 1940, in Chicago. His wife Thelma Mae, died April 8, 1968. He was a retired millwright and a veteran of the Royal Candadian Army.
Surviving are a daughter;
Mrs. Murial Raguskis of Chicago, IL
two grandsons;
Tom and John Raguskis, both of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews in England.
Services were held at the Ulmer Funeral Home
Rev. Wendell Paris officiated
Charles Burnett sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and
"In That City" with Mrs. Jesse Alexander as organist.
Pallbearers were:
