Edith A. Bowie
Edith Allen Bowie, 94, of Fredericksburg died with her loving family by her side Monday, June 22, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Bowie was preceded in death by her husband, Garland G. Bowie, and a son, Richard G. "Dick" Bowie. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Winston A. Bowie and his wife, Norma S., of Ormond Beach, Fla.; her sister, Hazel A. O'Bryhim and her husband, Rudy, of Ormond Beach; her grandson, Troy W. Bowie and his wife, Nancy, of Waynesboro; and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Bowie.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. James G. Newton Sr. officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
Pallbearers will be Troy Bowie, Terry Snellings, Kevin Brent, Edward Curtis, Harold Bowie and Lavelle Sullivan.
