PIONEER OF ST. ANSGAR DIES; RITES SATURDAY
St. Ansgar – Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church for Mrs. Mabel Sherman Carson, 66, who died at her home here Wednesday. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Carson, a lifelong resident of St. Ansgar, suffered a stroke 2 ½ months ago and was cared for at Mercy Hospital, at Mason City and the Cedar Valley Hospital at Charles City. She returned to her home here a few weeks ago.
She was married to Nute Carson December 27, 1904.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter; Mrs. Lucy Fields; a son, Clair, of St. Ansgar; and a grandson. Also survived by 2 brothers, LaForest Sherman, St. Ansgar; Adelbert J. Sherman, Kansas City, Mo., and one sister; Mrs. Leora Hale of Milford.
Burial will be in the East cemetery, St. Ansgar. The Rev. W. F. Belling will officiate.
