Charles Malcolm Roberts was born in Newport, Tennessee in September of 1874. He moved to California sometime prior to 1912 after spending a few years in Texas. During WWI Charles worked for the Llywelyn Iron Works in Los Angeles. He was twice married and was the father of six children, including Malcolm B. Roberts, Florence, Delcena, & Charles Melvin Roberts (from his second marriage to Hazel Cunningham) and Ethel and Roy Malcolm Roberts (inventor of "Tack Strip") from his first marriage to Pearl Harris.
Charles is buried in Forrest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, CA.
