Louis Gilbert Courneya, 76, of 7348 White Oak Ave., Hammond, Indiana died early today in his home. He was a retired employee of the former Cast Armor plant in East Chicago, a resident of Hammond for 20 years and member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
He was born April 1, 1884, in Hale Township, McLeod, Minnesota to Gilbert and Jeanette Courneya.
Mr. Courneya is survived by four brothers, Gordon of Hammond, John of Kent, Wash., James of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Nels of White Bear Lake, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hardy of St. Paul, Minn.
He was buried in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Solan Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond.
