In Texarkana, TX. Jerry was born to Nathaniel and Eva Johnson Mangus on September 10, 1939, in Broken Bow. OK, the youngest of four children. He was a 1958 graduate of Broken Bow High School where he met and later married Nancy Lee Cook on July 7, 1962, and built their home in Broken Bow, OK. Jerry worked as a millwright for Weyerhaeuser Co. in Wright City, OK for 47 years before retiring in 2005.
Jerry was a loving and caring father that always went above and beyond when it came to providing for his family, He also was an avid car and gun enthusiast, enjoyed target shooting and working with his hands. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his family, and going on vacations with them.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: R.N. Mangus, and a grandson-in-law, Pepe Arriaga.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Nancy Lee Mangus of Broken Bow, OK one daughter: Susan Luanne Mangus John and husband Johnny of Idabel, OK Two sons: Tracy Dean Mangus of Denver, CO, and Trevor Gene Mangus and wife Dawn of Sherman, TX, two brothers: Clarence Mangus and wife Mary of Lufkin, TX, Carl Mangus and wife Marie of Lacombe, LA, and a sister-in-law: Nell Mangus of Lufkin, TX. Six Grandchildren: Michael Mangus, Ashley Arriaga, Sara and Husband LeManuel Gonzales, David, Kacie, and Jessica Mangus. Five great-grandchildren: Franchesca, Fernando, Benjamin, Ramon, and Nathaniel. Numerous nieces, and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation:
Family will receive friends Monday evening, Jan. 31, at the Brumley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Service:
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February, 01, at 11:00 a.m., in the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.
