Services for Roy F. Clewitt, 70, were held at the Hamlin Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 25, at 1 p.m. Rev. E. L. Rieff officiating. Music was furnished by Merrill Womach.
Casket bearers were Rodney Langton, C. W. Church, Robert Adams, Donald Suess, Charles Pfenning and Charles Matthes. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
Roy F. Clewitt was born at Van Horne, Iowa, on Jan. 26, 1896. He moved with his family to South Dakota in 1909 and to the Kerrick area in 1911. He farmed in that area until 1938 and since then has been working on construction in Minnesota.
He married Ida Mae Phillips on Dec. 4, 1951. She passed away in 1966. Mr. Clewitt has not been well for the last year. He was taken to Mercy Hospital on Friday, March 22 and passed away there the same day.
Surviving are three sons, John of Cloquet, Donald of Kerrick, Francis of Fort Yates, ND two daughters, Mrs. Robert Adams (Leona) of Kerrick, and Mrs. Richard Pfenning (Nola) of Coggon, Iowa; two stepsons, Rodney Langton of St. Paul, and Robert Langton of Rochester; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jess Frary of Loveland, CA and Mrs. C. W. Church of Sioux Falls, SD one sister, Mrs. Virgil Matson of Kerrick. There are 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
