Violet Agnes Horton Graham went home to be with her Lord and reunite with her loving husband of 59 years, Leonard S Graham, on Friday, Mach 25, 2011.
Violet was born on February 23, 1919, in Hillsville, Va., to Davis Horton and Olivia Sawyers Horton.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Violet was a member and Past Matron of the Emera Chapter #31 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Methodist Women of Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Gloucester, where she was a member for many years and a Life Member of the D.A.V.
In addition to her husband and parents, Violet was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Lee Anderson; five sisters; and five brothers.
She is survived by her children, Gary Graham and wife, Jamie, Doris Steele and husband, Ronnie, Sharon Cole and husband, Wayne, Mike Graham, Pat Frank and husband, Dave, Lisa Jones and husband, Dwayne, June Martinez and husband, Phillip; and sister, Lena Brown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 29, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A funeral service, with Eastern Star Rites, will follow at noon, in the funeral home chapel, by the Rev. Rita Staul. Interment will be in Veterans Memorial Gardens, Hampton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Olive Branch United Methodist Church, 11408 Salem Church Rd., Gloucester, VA 23061.
