William Boardman Stiles, who died at his home in West Glover, January 26, was 81 years of age, having been born in Morristown, VT., October 28, 1840. Death was the result of a general breakdown resulting in Bright's disease at last. He had been in bed only about a month. He married Luella Farman of Troy at Albany on March 28, 1866. Eight children survive the union as follows: Fred W., of Boston; Edith A., of Malden, Mass.; Cora L., of Lyndon; Carrie M. of Charlestown, NH; Roberta E., of West Glover; Anna-Mae of Lyndon Center; Roy G., of Barton, and Ray F., of South River, NJ. He also leaves three brothers, Dr. M.F. Stiles of Westboro, Mass.; Pliny N. of Boston, and James L. of Concord, NH. Mr. Stiles served between 3 and 4 years in the Civil war and was a member of the G.A.R. and Masonic Order. His principal occupation has been that of a farmer but since his retirement had enjoyed his summers at a cottage on Willoughby Lake. He was a man of wide reading and an interesting conversationalist. The funeral was held at West Glover Saturday and burial was in the West Glover cemetery. Reverend J.J. Hutchinson officiated.
