Mrs. Mary Ann Triplett, 91, of LaPorte, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital.

She was born June 19, 1919, in Crandon, WI, to Sam and Mary (Reilly) Westimayer, and had lived in LaPorte for the last five years, coming from Whiting, IN.

Mary had her own hair salon in Whiting before retiring in 1981. Mary enjoyed gardening, flowers and taking walks. She loved animals and had her own "Doggy Daycare" for friends.

In 1941 in Chicago, she married Lloyd Triplett, who preceded her in death in 1975.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her niece, Linda Pinkstaff of LaPorte; great-niece, Lisa Pinkstaff of LaPorte; great-nephew, Bruce Pinkstaff of Andover, MN; and many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Tuesday, March 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Kim Landrum officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.

Memorial contributions may be made to the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W. Ind. 2, LaPorte, IN 46350.
