Daniel Abney was born in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky on December 17, 1886. He is the son of Henry Abney and Julia A. Ballenger Abney. He is their fifth of five children and the second of two sons.
He is the grandson to Elijah Abney & Lucinda America Mullins Abney and Abner G. Ballenger & Mary Moore Ballenger.
He is the brother to Sarah E., Matilda, Larkin, and Lucinda C.
He married Sarah Jennings in Oklahoma.
He is the father to Nobie, Amos, Nora Mae, Dora, Marion, LeRoy, Barbara "Evelyn", Daniel "Leo", and Lillie.
He died at the age of 84 years old and in buried in the West Side Cemetery.
Erickson & Brown Funeral Home were in charge of final arrangements.
