Jewel Lola Collins was born December 26, 1892 in Verona, Lawrence County, Missouri; one of eleven children born to the farm family of William Frank Collins and Amanda Jane (Calhoun) Collins. The Collins family farmed in the Lawrence County area until about 1898 when they moved to the Creek Nation, Indian Territory, with their seven children to what is now Hughes County, Oklahoma. Four more children were added to the family after the move. Jewel married James Evert "Eddie" Crawford (1892-1942) on January 18, 1913 in Hughes County. They shared 29 years of marriage farming in the Hughes and Okfuskee County area and raised eight children.
Jewel Lola (Collins) Crawford was inducted into the OKLAHOMA CENTENARIAN HALL OF FAME having reached the age of 100 years.
