Melitta Voss, 74, of Town of Meeme, died Sunday morning, March 30, at Sheboygan Retirement Home where she needed for the past eight weeks. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday at Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman. Rev. James Sizelove will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Voss, nee Melitta Maurer, was born Dec. 18, 1911 in the Town of Newton, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Schuette Maurer. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School of Manitowoc. She married Alvin Voss on June 28, 1930 at Newton Reform Church. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Town of Meeme. Mrs. Voss was also employed as a cook at Lakeland College for 10 years.
Mrs. Voss was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman, the Ladies Aide of the church and a past member of the Church consistory.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin; two sons, Dennis of Town of Meeme and Larry of New Brighton, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Busse of Manitowoc and Mrs. Eleanor
Bouchard of Zion, Ill.; a brother, Edgar Maurer of Manitowoc and four grandchildren also survived. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, after 4 pm Tuesday and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 am until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Miss Melitta Maurer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maurer of Newton was married
to Alvin Voss at the Newton Presbyterian church at three o'clock this afternoon.
The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Louis Voss of Meeme.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Klaudt in the presence of relatives and friends. Miss Eleanor Maurer, sister of the bride acted as maid of honor, and Melvin Voss as best man. The other attendants were Miss Esther Grosshuesch and Harvey Voss.
After the ceremony a six o'clock dinner was served. The couple are leaving on Sunday on an extended wedding trip through Wisconsin.
The bride is a graduate of the Lincoln high school with the class of '29 and was employed in the office of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. The groom is a carpenter at Sheboygan.
