Kiel (Special) – Mrs. Stauss, 59, widow of the late Philip Stauss, died at her home in the town of Rhine at 5:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, after a lingering illness.
She was born May 12, 1880, in the town of Herman, daughter of Carl and Louise Meyer. June 16, 1904, she married Mr. Stauss, the Rev. E. G. Krampe, Plymouth, performing the ceremony. The couple settled on the town of Rhine farm where they had lived since.
Mr. Stauss died July 27, 1936. Two children also preceded him in death. Survivors are one daughter and five sons, Mrs. Otto (Anna) Wehrmann of Cleveland, Wis., Henry, town of Herman, Arthur and Alvin at home, Walter of the town of Russell and Jacob of Brentwood, Wis., four grandchildren; two brothers, William of Howards Grove and Ferdinand of Sheboygan, and one sister, Mrs. Louise Thimmig, Sheboygan.
Mrs. Stauss was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society of the Bethel Evangelical and Reformed church, town of Herman. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Bethel Evangelical and Reformed church, the Rev. William Bollmann officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. The body can be viewed at the home from Saturday afternoon on.
