Lois Ella Rietbrock, 57, of W4331 State Highway 32, Elkhart Lake, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 22, 1996 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. She is the former Lois Hoffman born Aug. 15, 1938 in Menominee, Mich., daughter of the late Walter and Mabel Gruenewald Hoffman. She was a 1956 graduate of Plymouth High School and completed a one year business program at Lakeland College. On Oct. 19, 1957 she married Vernon Rietbrock at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Lois and Vernon lived in Glenview, Ill. for the first two years of their marriage, while Vernon was serving in the U.S. Navy. in 1959 the couple moved to their farm in the Town of Herman.
She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman; a member of the church Ladies Aid and a former president/secretary of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon, Town of Herman; one son, Rick, at home; two daughters, Kim Rietbrock, Chilton and Teri (Joseph) Hanke III, rural Chilton; two sisters, Mrs. Bethel (Robert) Green, Plymouth; and Mrs. Anette (Jess) LeMahieu, Plymouth; one sister-in-law, Diane Rietbrock, Elkhard Lake; three nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by one infant son.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, May 25, at Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman, with the Rev. Melinda Feller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel from 4-8 pm on Friday and at the church on Saturday from 11 am until the time of services. A memorial will be established in her name.
