Amos W. Miller, 79, of 1226 Reed St., Plymouth, died Sunday at Rocky Knoll where he had been a resident five weeks.
Born April 20, 1895, in the Town of Eaton (Manitowoc County), he was a son of the late Frederick and Augusta Sy Miller. He attended district school.On Aug. 12, 1915, he married Mathilda Newhouse at Curtiss.
The couple lived in the Colby area until 1926 when they moved to Cleveland. In 1934 they moved to Rhine Center.
Mr. Miller operated a garage at Plymouth and a livestock business in Rhine Center and Plymouth, retiring in 1963.
The couple moved to Plymouth in 1968. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1965. Mrs. Miller died Sept. 25, 1967. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Elda) Laabs of Glenbeulah, Mrs. Harold (Verna) Hueppchen of R. 1, Waldo, and Mrs. Orville (Arlene) Boeldt of Plymouth; four sons, Harold of New Holstein, William and Arnold of Plymouth,
and Melvin of McLean, Va.; 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin daughters in infancy; a son, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel UCC, the Rev. Donald King, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home this evening, until 11 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from noon until the time of services.
