Martha E. Marx, 78, of W4383 CTH EH, Elkhart Lake, died at her residence on Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997 after an extended illness. The former Martha Huber was born July 18, 1919 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Neuhaus Huber. She attended Pigeon River School in Town Meeme.
Martha Huber and Fred Marx were united in marriage on May 16, 1942 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Ada. Martha was a life member of Bethel United Church of Christ and a past member of the Bethel Ladies Aid. Martha was a loving, caring mom, who treasured her family and grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling and taking walks with her dog.
Surviving her is her husband, Fred; one son, Steven (Karen) Marx, Cleveland; three daughters, Mary Ann (Bill) Olm, Cleveland; Rosalie (Gary) Henschel, rural Elkhart Lake and Janice (Mark) Miller, Plymouth; seven granddaughters and six grandsons; one great grand child; her mother-in-law, Lydia Marx, Sheboygan; two brothers, Elmer (Delores) Huber, Sheboygan and Martin (Dorsey) Huber, rural Cleveland; one sister, Hilda (Elmer) Kraemer, rural Elkhart Lake; one brother-in-law, Warren Terry, Sheboygan Falls and a sister-in-law, Betty Huber, New Holstein; also surviving is her faithful companion, "Sambo", the black lab. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted for Martha on Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at 3 pm at Bethel United Church of Christ in Ada, with the Rev. Jennifer Dawson, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Zimmer Funeral Home, 117 N. Wisconsin Dr., Howards Grove, on Friday from 3 until 8 pm and at the church on Saturday from 1 pm until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Martha E. Marx.
