CATHERINE E. HUBER

Catherine E. Huber, age 82, formerly of Ada, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 16, 1999, at the Calumet Homestead, New Holstein where she had been a resident since April 1998.
She is the former Betty Nick born Aug,. 27, 1916 in Green Bay, the daughter of the late William F. and Anna Marie Collard Nick.
She attended Sheboygan County schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1933.
On Oct. 22, 1938 she married Ernest M. Huber in Elkhart Lake. He died Feb.15, 1991. The couple lived all their married life in Ada where they were owners of Ada Meat Market. Betty also was a retired employee of Hayssen Co.
She was a member of Bethel U.C.C. in the town of Herman where she had been a Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed her flower gardens, was an avid bowler and a member of the Manitowoc County Homemakers Club and canasta club.
Survivors include three daughters, Darlene (Kenneth) Draheim of New Holstein, Carolyn (Wayne) Jolin of Rhinelander and Cheryl (Gene) Spindler of Seymour; one son, Larry (Jennifer) Huber of Fitchburg; 10 grandchildren, Wendy (Tim) Schueler, Todd Draheim, Jay (Kayla) Sommer, Mary (Gerry) Thome, Timothy (Mary) Draheim, Heidi (Rob) Kreighoff, Michael Draheim, William Huber, Katherine Huber, and Amanda Spindler; four great-grandchildren: Brynn, Trevor and Allicia Schueler and Matthew Thome one brother, Harold (Eleanora) Nick of Howards Grove; brothers and sisters in laws, Elmer (Delores) Huber, Martin (Dorsey) Huber, Warren Terry, Frederick Marx, Hilda (Elmer) Kraemer; godchildren, Linda Nick Luedke and Daniel Huber and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother and sister in laws, Anna (Oscar) Neuhaus, Bertha (Rev. Frank) Lowenbergh, Calvin (Isabella) Huber, Selma Terry and Martha Marx.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel U.C. in the town of Herman with the Rev. Melinda Feller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
The family would like to thank the wonderful personnel at Willowpark and the Calumet Homestead for the wonderful care given to Betty since her stroke in 1992 and relatives and friends for their many visits and their concern.
