Ernest M. Huber, age 74, W3959 Hwy. 32, Elkhart Lake (Ada), died Friday afternoon, Feb. 15, 1991, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.
Born April 18, 1916, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Oscar and Mary (Neuhaus) Huber. He attended Pigeon River School in the Town of Meeme.
On Oct. 22, 1938, he married Betty Nick at Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake. He was owner of the Ada Meat Market in Ada for approximately 26 years. He was also employed at Hayssen Manufacturing in Sheboygan, for 10 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman. He was a former member of the church choir and the church consistory. He was a member of the Ada Fire Department for 27 years and past fire chief. He is a charter member of the Sheboygan County Fire Chiefs Association. Also an active life member of the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs Associatoin.
Survivors are his wife, Betty; one son, Larry (Jennifer) of Fitchburg, Wis.; three daughters; Mrs. Kenneth (Darlene) Draheim, New Holstein; Mrs. Wayne (Carolyn) Jolin, of Rhinelander; and Mrs. Gene (Cheryl) Spindler of Seymour; 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Calvin (Isabella), Chilton; Elmer (Delores), of Sheboygan, and Martin (Dorcella), rural Cleveland; five sisters, Anna Neuhaus, of Sheboygan, Mrs. Frank (Bertha) Lowenbergh, of Oberlein, Ohio, Mrs. Warren (Selma) Terry, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Frederick (Martha) Marx, and Mrs. Elmer (Hilda) Kraemer, both of rural Elkhart Lake.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman, Dr. Reinhard Ulrich will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery.
Friends ma call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel from 4 to 9 p.m., Monday, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., and at the church from noon until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
