Anita I. Hameister, age 87, formerly of the Sheboygan County area and currently living in Grand Rapids, Mich., went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002.
Anita was born in Ada Feb. 12, 1915, a daughter of the late Valentine and Ida (Neuhaus) Hameister.
Anita move to Grand Rapids in 1940 and attended the Reformed Bible Institute. She graduated from Calvin College in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and later received her Masters Degree from Lansing Michigan State University.
Anita taught at Westside Christian School in Grand Rapids for many years and also at the Neillsville Indian Reservation. She was a member of the Sherman Street Christian Reformed Church.
Surviving Anita is a sister and her husband, Ruth (Ray Narotz) Klemme of Clintonville; and two sisters-in-law, Gertrude and Ruth Hameister, both of Sheboygan. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her. Two brothers, Ray and Hugo, and one nephew, Daniel Hameister, preceded her in death.
A Funeral Service will be conducted for Anita on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Zimmer Funeral Home, 117 N. Wisconsin Dr., Howards Grove. The Rev. Mark Jaberg, pastor of Our Shepherd United Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Ada. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
