Otto Beck, 77, of Route 1, Elkhart Lake, Town of Herman, died Wednesday evening at Memorial Hospital where he'd been a patient for two weeks.
He was born Feb. 18, 1906, in the Town of Rhine, son of John and Rosian Gross Beck. He attended school in Kiel.
He and Viola Dexheimer were married Feb. 14, 1931, in Ada.
Mr. Beck was employed in Milwaukee as a machinist before moving to Ada, where the couple farmed for 49 years, retiring in 1971.
Mr. Beck was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman, and was a former deacon and elder of the church.
He was a past member of the Ada Fire Dept., and served for many years on the board of directors of the fire department.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Frederick of Sheobygan (sic); two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Teckla Thiele of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Rose Miller of Sheboygan Falls.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother and two sisters.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday at Bethel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman. The Rev. Hilbert Klein, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home after 4 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, and at the church from noon until the time of services.
A memorial fund has been establsiehd (sic) in Mr. Beck's name for Bethel United Church of Christ.
