Mrs. Eva Nelson Dies After An Extended Illness


Mrs. Eva Nelson, 63, wife of Harry Nelson, of North Meridian street, died
Sunday at 12:45 a.m. at the Jay County Hospital following an extended
illness.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Jay County July 28, 1886, the daughter of James
and Catherine (Metzner) Huston. She was married Feb. 13, 1902 to Harry W.
Nelson, who survives with a son, Everett Nelson, of Portland, and two
daughters, Mrs. Harley Millett and Mrs. Dan Pensinger of Portland; seven
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased.
The body was removed to the Baird funeral home, where friends may call.
Funeral services will be held from the Baird Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. in
charge of Rev. J. H. Nall, with interment in Green Park cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson was with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Everett
Nelson, in an apartment above the Valentine confectionery when the Home
Café explosion demolished the two brick structures February 15 th . Mrs.
Nelson and her son escaped injuries when they were knocked down to the
first floor level and the daughter-in-law was removed from the balcony by a
ladder.
