Funeral of Noted Horseman to Be Held at Madison
Madison, Mo., April 22, Funeral services for Lonnie Hayden, former Madison horseman, who died April 18, at Palo Alto, Calif., will be held at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Christian Church.

The body is to lie in state at the Fred A. Thompson funeral parlors until the funeral hour. The services will be conducted by the Rev. J.R. Uhler. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery here.

Mrs. Hayden was born near here, in Monroe County. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hayden.

Mr. Hayden became one of the outstanding horsemen of his generation. He was employed by Lula Long Combs for many years, handling Chief of Longview when the horse won a national championship.

After leaving Kansas City for Palo Alto, he was employed there by Mrs. Roth and also by Bing Crosby and was handling the former's "Sweetheart On Parade", when the horse won a world championship and was retired from the ring.

Mr. Hayden is survived by his father, Robert Hayden of East St. Louis, and by two sisters, Mrs. Roy Faddis of East St. Louis, and Mrs. Stanley Hocker of Camargo, Okla. His mother died about 3 1/2 years ago.
