Albino de la Cruz, 74, died at his home in Ogden, Utah on Monday March 21, 2011. He was born on December 6, 1936, to Apolinar and Juanita (Valerio) de la Cruz. He was the oldest of seven children and graduated as Valedictorian of his class in 1956 from Benavides High School. He later earned a Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University in Chemical Engineering. Known in his family as 'Uncle Bebe,' he was admired and respected for his professional accomplishments as well as his generosity, thoughtfulness (he never forgot a birthday), and commitment to his family. Albino was a civilian employee of the U.S. Air Force working for almost his entire career at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. As an engineer, he worked on long term projects with the Titan II Minuteman Missiles, the precursor to today's surface to air weaponry. He received numerous recognitions and commendations for his work although he never spoke about them. In his younger days, he was an avid skier and in later life was a terrific dancer, belonging to a number of dance clubs. Albino was always interested in learning new things and loved to travel and experience new places. He was an active member of his church, St. James Catholic Church of Ogden, where he was a teacher for an education/support program for adult members new to the Catholic faith.

Albino was preceded in death by his parents: Apolinar and Juanita (Valerio) de la Cruz and brothers-in-law: Rodolfo (Rudy) Alvarez and Octavio Cruz.
